The following information is meant for parents/guardians of any 7^th and 8^th graders interested in participating on a KV Spring Sports team.

KV Spring sports practices & tryouts begin on:

              Boys Tennis: March 18^th (meeting in Coach Schmidt's room - 205)

                                   March 19th (tryouts)

              Softball: March 18^th (tryouts)

              Baseball: March 18^th (tryouts)

              Girls Lacrosse: March 19^th (tryouts)

              Boys & Girls Track: March 19^th

              Boys Lacrosse: April 3rd 

PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME YOUR STUDENT WILL BE CLEARED TO PARTICIPATE IN SPRING SPORTS UNTIL YOU READ BELOW. Paperwork will need to be completed by all parents/guardians of all Spring student-athletes.

Returning KV Student-Athletes:

              This includes all students who have fully participated in a KV fall or winter sport during the 2023-24 school year. In order to participate in a KV Spring sport, you must complete PIAA Section 7 electronically through ATS. Please sign in using the link below and follow the instructions to complete PIAA Section 7. If you forgot your ATS login information, I emailed this info to all student’s school email accounts on February 1st.

              1. Click on “Athlete Information”

              2. Click on “Forms” tab

3. Scroll down and click on the drop-down arrow along the lower left-hand side next to “Form Name”

              4. Click on “New”

              5. Complete PIAA Section 7 and submit

6. If you’ve answered “Yes” to any questions on PIAA Section 7, you will need to have your student’s doctor complete a PIAA Section 8

7. PIAA Section 8 can be printed out by clicking on “Athlete Information,” then the “eFiles” tab, and then download PIAA Section 8. This form can then be uploaded on the “eFiles” tab after it is completed by a doctor.

First-Time KV Student-Athletes:

              This includes students who have NOT participated on a fall or winter sports team during the 2023-24 school year. Please follow the directions in the link below to complete all required sports paperwork. ATS Login information was emailed to each student’s school email address on February 1^st.

ImPACT Testing

All spring student-athletes (except track & boys tennis) need a completed ImPACT baseline test on file before day one of spring sports. Directions on completing these baseline tests will be emailed to each student-athlete after sign-ups are completed on February 29^th. If you’ve already taken an ImPACT baseline test this fall or winter, you do NOT need to take another one.

Times

You can find all spring sports schedules, including times for practices, tryouts, and games by viewing our website: https://keithvalleysports.org/ . Please review our schedule throughout the season, as there will certainly be some changes along the way.

To summarize, all practices/tryouts will start at 2:40pm and end at 4:30pm. The only exception is Boys & Girls Track which will run from 3:10pm – 5:00pm. All non-track student-athletes will be getting dismissed from class at 1:55pm and riding the bus over to their practice site at 2:05pm. Track athletes will be dismissed at our normal time of 3:00pm.

For home contests, all student-athletes will be dismissed from class at 1:55pm for a 2:05pm departure.

For away contests, we will be continuing with our 1:35pm dismissal and 1:45pm departure.

Pickup

We are asking all parents/guardians to arrange for a ride home with their student after all practices, and home & away games. We understand this may be difficult for many of you and we appreciate your flexibility with this. As we anticipate a greater need for carpooling this spring, we are providing the following link to our Carpooling Permission Form for you to complete: https://forms.office.com/r/8En9RuktNs. Responses to this form will automatically be delivered to your team’s Head Coach, but we’ve provided our coaching staff below if you have any questions:
