Thank you for your support of KV Athletics! The purpose of this announcement is to clarify our transportation procedures for KV student-athletes this upcoming school year. 

There is no change to our after-school late bus transportation for athletes. As in years past, we will be providing transportation home after all tryouts, practices, and home games. We have a late bus stopping by each Fall sport location (Chestnut Creek Park à Kohler Soccer Fields à Carpenter Park à KVMS) to pick up any student-athletes who need the late bus. This bus begins it’s pickups at Chestnut Creek Park around 4:15 PM, and then stops at each subsequent site. These students are brought to KVMS, where they hop onto their designated 5:15 PM late bus which will take them home. 

The only time we will not be offering transportation home is after away contests. The reason for this is because, in most cases, our students will not return back to KVMS from their away site until well after the 5:15 PM buses have already departed. For all away contests, we need our student-athletes to arrange a ride home with a parent/guardian either directly from the away site, or from KVMS after the students return from their game. Coaches will remain with students at KVMS until their designated ride has arrived.

As we’ve seen over the past couple of years that we’ve been operating off-site for sports, there is a greater demand for parent pickups and carpooling after practices, home games, and away games. For many families, it is easier to arrange for their own transportation home after sporting events, as students often get home much quicker than they would if they were riding the bus. Therefore, we’ve provided a Carpooling Permission Form within each student’s Big Team’s Student Central Account. This form helps our KVMS coaching staff track their student-athlete’s pickup and carpooling plans.
